Recent Youth Announcements

diocesanconventionAttending Diocesan Convention is a great opportunity to see some of the inner workings of the Episcopal Church and meet other youth and adults from around the diocese. There are lots of ways for youth to be involved.

Delegates: Four high school youth are elected at Camp to be full, voting delegates at Diocesan Convention. This is a great honor and privilege and a rarity in many diocese.

2017 Alternates:

Pages: Youth in grades 8-12 are invited to be pages at Diocesan Convention in Topeka. Pages pass out and collect ballots during the business session of convention. One person will be asked to serve as the Bishop’s page and help him as needed throughout the business sessions.

Acolytes: Youth are needed to be acolytes at the convention opening Eucharist on Friday morning at the Convention Hotel.

Compline: Youth offer our traditional youth event Compline service on Friday night after the banquet.

When: Friday, October 20 – Saturday, October 21, 2017
Where: Youth will stay at Upton Hall, 835 SW Polk St., Topeka, KS
Who: Youth currently in grades 8-12
Fee: There is no cost to attend. All meals are provided.
Priority Deadline: Friday, September 22

Youth will stay the night Upton Hall Conference Center, which has beds and showers, with linens provided. There will be two adult chaperones present as well. Youth will be transported back and forth from Upton Hall and the Topeka Capital Plaza Hotel and Conference Center by adults and college students. Youth are asked not to transport themselves or other youth.

Fall Fun Fest

The purpose of Fall Festival is to welcome youth to the Diocesan Youth Program. The event is fun, social, and an easy way to “check out” what Diocesan Youth Events are all about. We encourage everyone to invite a friend to Fall Fun Fest.

We have music and fun games! There are opportunities to make friends with youth from all over the Episcopal Diocese of Kansas, hang-out and learn about Christian Spirituality.

When: Saturday, September 9 – Sunday, September 10

Youth Group will meet on the 2nd Sunday of each month  after the 10:30am  service.  Plan on being done at 1pm (unless there is a different youth event planned that week).  Our first youth group of the year will be on 11 September!  Mark you calendars and we hope to see you there!
