Pentecost Sunday is the Birthday of the Church; the day
the followers of Christ first discovered the presence
of the Holy Spirit.  It is also the day in which the church
received its marching orders to take the Gospel to
all the world, translated into all the languages
so that the people could know the peace of Christ.

Join us, and wear red, as we celebrate this special feast of
the church.
A special reception will be held following the
10:45 A.M. service.

Team Building

St David’s Jr. Youth Group had a lock-in over Spring Break. They attended some workshops, had group games and lots of time to hang out together. We also decorated our own T-shirts! While we watched the new Muppets movie, we did crafts and played games.

“Just because a woman is 35 or more, romance in life need not be over, romance can begin at 35” (from the radio program “The Romance of Helen Trent).

Just because a person is 50, or older, Christian formation need not be over. Christian Formation can begin at any age.

Christian Formation is the idea that we are made in the image and likeness of God and we spend a lifetime learning what that means. We are given brains that can absorb a great deal of information and yet sometimes we know more about the starting line-up of our favorite sports team than we do about the 12 apostles. As good as they are, the sports team has really nothing to do with our ultimate salvation.

Learning about God, our life with God and our relationship with Christ is a lifelong work, it does not end after a few weeks of confirmation classes. The way we relate to others at work or at home has a direct relationship to the way in which we relate to God. Our spiritual life matters, and the better informed we are, the better formed we are in Christ.

I am looking for five or more laypersons who will help me lead Christian Formation for adults in this parish. In addition to the Sunday morning offering, this group would provide administrative support to weekly educational opportunities in all kinds of subjects such as marriage, parenting, retirement, dating, and the current issues in our church and culture.

If you are willing to help, or perhaps would be willing to lead this group, please let me know. Your help is truly needed.
