Each Wednesday night between February 29th and March 21st,  Tickle will present a short program via video and then a thought provoking discussion will follow.

The evening will begin with Holy Eucharist at 5:30 P.M. followed by a soup supper at 6:30 and the program beginning about 7:00.

You are welcome to come to any one or all of the three parts of the evening.

One of those confirmed is seen at right.

The service marks the conclusion of weeks of instruction lead by the Rector and Mr. Chris Holman.

Bishop Wolfe also spent some time with Vestry following the service.

Shrove Tuesday, or Fat Tuesday, falls on the last day before Lent.  Different countries celebrate in different ways.  Nearly everyone has heard about Mardis Gras, and knows that the city of New Orleans has a huge celebration with parades and parties.  Traditionally, Lent has been a time of somber reflection, fasting, and penitential practices which reflect the 40 days Christ spent in the desert. People have often refrained from eating rich food like meat, dairy, eggs and fats during Lent. So the day before Ash Wednesday, people began gathering for parties and fixed dinners that used up those perishable foods. That’s why we eat pancakes:)

Knowing that we’ll all be at the pancake dinner, and Tuesday being a school night, it simply doesn’t make sense to have a party on Shrove Tuesday, SO the youth group is going to have a Fat Friday party on Friday, the 17th!  While we aren’t going to parade through the streets of Topeka, we are going to eat junk food, play games and in general, get goofy.  The Fat Friday party starts at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m.  All St. David’s middle and high school youth are invited.
