Doorstep Update:  Planning Ahead for January

More than 40 years ago, St. David’s made a commitment to support Doorstep’s mission.  Each January, we, along with three other congregations, are
responsible for filling the food pantry and helping in the clothing bank. We’re setting our goal at 1,500 pounds of food!  We almost reached it last year with over 1,300 pounds, but the year before we were over 1,500. WE CAN DO IT!!

Food Pantry needs are specific.  The following items are needed in larger quantities:  macaroni and cheese, boxed dinners (Hamburger Helper, etc.) jelly, peanut butter, canned veggies and fruits, canned tuna and meat, soup crackers, soup, oatmeal, dry cereals, pasta, pasta sauce, pinto beans, rice , and canned or powdered milk.  We’ll start collecting January 1 and continue for the entire month.

The sign-up sheet for the clothing room is on the narthex bulletin board. We are there each Thursday in January and will sort clothing on Monday, January 14. Sign-up times are
10-Noon or Noon-2.
