Christie has been a St. Davidian her entire life.  She was baptized here by Fr. Henry Breul in the original church building which was later the Parrish Hall and is now the office area.  She was confirmed at St. David’s by Fr. Frank Cahoon.  Christie’s and her husband Tony, were married here by Fr. Jim Bethel and Fr. Patrick Ward.  They have two daughters, Mariel, and Cara, who were both baptized here at St. David’s.   Her parents, attended St. David’s from 1955 until their deaths in 2006.  Two of her older sisters were married here, as well.  Christie has some very strong ties to St. David’s.

She has served in various capacities over the years: Sunday School/Vacation Bible School teacher, Altar Guild member (chair in the past), vestry /search committee member; choir member, and most recently was a delegate for the latest diocesan convention where she was honored to participate in an historical election of our first female Bishop of Kansas!

Christie has worked for Stormont-Vail here in Topeka as a respiratory therapist for 40 years!  During that tenure, she has enjoyed working in various roles, and is currently in the Pulmonary Function Lab where they do diagnostic testing.
In her spare time, Christie likes working on projects around the house or in the yard, crafts, sewing, crosswords, reading, and traveling when she has the opportunity.  Her family has also hosted 5 foreign exchange students over the years, and she enjoys keeping in touch with them as well.
